Enform Offers Rig Training For Oil Rig Workers

As oil and gas prices are stabilizing, training programs will continue to see demand from oil and gas drilling companies. There are as many as 150 green recruits. The green recruits will go through a three-day orientation program on the training rig before being sent out to work in the field.

“Calgary-based Enform offers heavy equipment and drilling rig training at Nisku, just south of Edmonton, as well as classroom courses through offices in Weyburn, Sask., and in Fort St. John, B.C.. Some of its more than 80 programs are legally required prerequisites for work on an oil and gas wellsite and must be updated regularly.”

Uniform Safety Training Program Initiated At Butler County Community College, Pennsylvania

With the goal of creating a uniform safety training program for employees of natural gas companies, Enform is expanding its training programs to the Butler Country Community College in Pennsylvania. Chevron has already made the course a requirement for its local employees. This move is expected to benefit the workers involved in natural gas development in the state of Pennsylvania.

According to a recent news article:

“We are hoping that by expanding to the Butler campus we will be able to serve employees who work outside the Pittsburgh area, and don’t want to travel two hours to come to a four-hour training,” said Anna Marie Mumich, the center’s program director. It was created in the hopes of implementing a uniform safety training program for employees at every level of the industry, from big companies to small contractors, Mumich said.

The training will help prepare workers to take on the challenges in the oil and gas industry. The community college adapts its course to meet the changing needs of the natural gas industry. This helps in staying relevant and offering suitable training for workers to equip them with appropriate skills and knowledge to do their tasks.
