Self-Awareness
Sheila Kloefkorn said in a recent article:
“In an Accenture interview of 100 CEOs about the skills that were needed to run a company, nearly all named self-awareness. The ability to accurately assess strengths and weaknesses and cultivate a team whose abilities augment their own helps leaders focus on building a successful company.”
Knowing one’s strengths and weaknesses and finding the necessary talent to bridge the gap where you need support can go a long way in meeting the needs of clients. If you let ego come in the way of seeking help, you will find unhappy customers and lose business along the way. Self-awareness can help you inspire other people to identify their key strengths and work on their weaknesses. This in turn will boost the productivity and confidence of the employees.
The Legacy Of A Powerful Vision
According to Tom Zender, a guest blogger on bizjournals, inspiring leaders create a legacy of a powerful vision that is so powerful and engaging, that it can build new industries altogether. He gave the example of Jeff Bezos, the CEO of Amazon, who was a visionary and saw opportunity in online shopping of books. His vision was so powerful that it resulted in the creation of the online shopping industry, which spans a wide variety of products from various retailers. His legacy continues.
Tom Zender said in a recent article:
“Founder Jeff Bezos saw this possibility in 1994 – just as the Internet began to wire the world. Simultaneously, he saw an ancient book industry as the first target. Now, it is not just books. Amazon sells 2 billion different items from 2 million vendors.”
