Greta Mittereder reported in a recent news video that the Utica Shale Academy, located inside Southern Local Schools, was ready to graduate oil and gas workers. The academy provides training to students on the work undertaken at an oil rig. The training includes casing a well, installing pipes apart from oil, and gas extraction.
The Academy offers three certifications for students: Rig Pass, which is for safety; Drilling Instructors Training (DIT); and Well Controlled Certification. The training helps aspiring oil and gas workers to stay safe when working in difficult environments on oil rigs.
Guest speakers are invited to share their experiences about working on oil rigs. This helps students become aware of the challenges that they will face on oil rigs. The academy organizes rig tours for students to familiarize them with the work environment.
Students who aspire to enter the oil and gas industry can enroll in the academy to train them on the necessary skills. The students will develop a wholesome view and be better prepared to take on the challenges of working on oil rigs.
The academy offers convenient online training for students to prepare themselves on the theoretical aspects of working on oil rigs.
