Your Social Profile Or Resume Should Feature Relevant Keywords

Many companies use applicant tracking systems to identify the right resumes for the position being offered. These tracking systems filter out resumes that are not suitable for the position being offered. This makes it essential to include certain keywords that are highly relevant to the job. For instance, if you’re applying for a job as an administrative assistant, you should have the terms ‘knowledge of Microsoft Word,’ in your resume. This increases the odds of a recruiter going through your resume.

Jen Hubley Luckwaldt said in a recent article:

“Most software isn’t very smart or forgiving,” explains Joyce. “It won’t understand that, to be a successful administrative assistant, knowledge of Microsoft Word is required. Consequently, without that term visible in your social profile and resume, your documents or profile will not be seen by a human being. Even if you have that experience, you are invisible unless your social profile or resume includes the term being searched, like ‘Microsoft Word’ in our example.”

Editing your social profile to highlight your key skills will go a long way in attracting the attention of recruiters. This can increase the chances of landing a job interview.

Administrative assistant jobs are on the increase and will continue to grow through 2018. Candidates need to use relevant keywords in their social profiles and resumes to improve their job prospects.
