Background of Oil Rig Workers

The institutes that offer courses in the oil and gas work on equipping their students before they start their career in the respective industries. They develop energy centers to equip the students to have hands-on-experience before they face the real world.

According to a survey, nearly 30 percent of new hires in the industry last year were equipment operators. The other field in the oil and gas industry where the demand is high is engineering, construction, operation and maintenance. These are also the areas where the industry plans to hire the most.

Requirements for Oil Rig Worker

You should be willing to take up challenges before you decide to pursue your career in the oil and gas industry. You should also have the following requirements:
• Be willing to work in shifts as and when required.
• Should have a H2S Alive certificate before you start working for any company. This certificate should be recognized by the oil and gas industry association for that particular country. This is a standard safety training certificate.
• You should possess a driving license, which will be useful if the job requires you to travel to any other location.
