The Importance Of Conservation In The Energy Industry

Energy-industry-safetyThe oil and gas industry is one of the most crucial industries in the world today. Keeping the working conditions in mind, the industry makes sure it looks after the employees well. Along with the working conditions and the offsite locations where these employees are posted, they also consider their health conditions. The environment and the working profile offered is made sure to be safe and healthy for the employees.

While looking after the employees is vital for the management, it also has to make sure that the company surroundings are looked after. A lot of the resources used in the company play a role in affecting the natural resources in the surrounding areas.

In one of the news articles, it was mentioned:

“Coal is the most notorious source. It adds to airborne particulate matter, mercury contamination of water, and sulfur oxides and nitrous oxides –which contribute to acid rain. Coalmines are destructive to humans, water sources, and the natural environment. However, coal power plants have been hit with increasingly strict emissions rules, and American coal in general is cleaner than other coal sources worldwide. Coal is an even bigger environmental hazard abroad, like in China.”

A lot of companies, therefore, have been following measures to make sure their surroundings are kept safe and pollution-free.

In one of the news articles, it was mentioned:

“P&G embraces a similar philosophy with its Waste to Worth program. A ‘Global Asset Recovery Purchases’ (GARP) team is charged with finding external partners who can turn waste and non-performing inventory into something useful. The company says that, over the last five years, Waste to Worth has created over a billion dollars in value for P&G.”

It has therefore, become important for companies to consider certain measures to conserve and reuse its resources used within the company like the way it looks after the well-being of its employees.
